    Great point, I read somewhere a number of years ago that on average, a child will see 40,000 ads–all before his or her first day of school.

    40,000 definitely sounds doable. if a kid starts watching tv at age 2, he’s got around 1000 days to be exposed to ads on tv alone before the first grade. i’m really hoping neuroscience will shed some light on what all that exposure does to one’s brain.
